Copyright

Last updated 21 October 2026

We respect copyright and expect members to do the same. If something on African Link Up uses your work without permission, tell us with the form below and we'll remove it promptly. This page is a plain-language summary; full terms of service will replace it before launch.

What members confirm

Members may only post photos, videos and words they own or have permission to share. Each one confirms this when they publish. What a member posts remains their responsibility.

Reporting infringement

Use the form below. For us to act, a notice needs: your name and contact details; a description of the copyrighted work; the link to each page on this site where it appears; a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you own the copyright or may act for its owner; and your signature (your typed full name).

When a notice is complete we remove or disable the material promptly, and tell the member who posted it.

Counter-notices

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake, send a counter-notice with the form below (choose "Send a counter-notice"). We pass it to the person who sent the original notice. Unless they tell us they have started a court action, we may restore the material no sooner than 10 business days after receiving your counter-notice. A false notice or counter-notice can make the sender liable for damages.

Repeat infringers

We keep a record of upheld notices. A member with 3 or more may have their account suspended, which hides everything they have published.

Our designated agent

Our registration of a designated copyright agent with the US Copyright Office is in progress. Until it is listed here, please use the form below: it reaches us directly.
