Glitz Africa Fashion Week 2026 in Accra: dates, tickets and the Young Design Talent Show
Four days of beauty, business and runway in Accra, with a stage of its own for Africa's newest designers and a private show from Christie Brown and Atafo.
Glitz Africa Fashion Week is back in Accra from Tuesday 10 to Friday 13 November 2026: four days of talks, new talent and trading that build to two main runway nights on 12 and 13 November at The Underbridge Annex on Boundary Road. The organisers have named this year's theme "Sustainable by Design: Shaping Africa's Fashion Future", and the week gives young designers as much room as the established names.
What makes this one different
Most fashion weeks revolve around famous labels. Glitz keeps a whole afternoon for people just starting out. The Young Design Talent Show, on Wednesday 11 November from 3pm to 6pm at Viva Boutique, puts emerging designers from Ghana and across Africa in front of buyers, press and investors, and those chosen also get mentoring and workshops. It was open to labels less than five years old, judged on creativity, sustainability, craftsmanship and market potential; applications closed on 30 September.
The next generation returns on Friday, when graduating design students take the main runway in a Graduate Show. Before that comes a striking pairing: a private show from Ghana's Christie Brown, the house founded by Aisha Ayensu in 2008, and Nigeria's Mai Atafo, at 5pm on Thursday 12 November, ahead of the first main runway at 7pm. Both labels were on MyJoyOnline's 2012 list of confirmed designers for the first Glitz Africa Fashion Week, so their joint show is something of a reunion.

This year's partners include Scent of Africa, KIKO Milano and Lush Hair.
Tickets, and who it's for
Tickets are sold through eGotickets, the organiser's official ticketing partner, on the Glitz Africa Fashion Week ticket page. They are e-tickets scanned by QR code at the door, and apart from one ticket for the private show alone, they cover the two main runway nights. At the time of writing the prices were:
- Regular Access, with a designated seat: GH₵511
- Private Showcase, for the Christie Brown and Atafo show only: GH₵511
- VIP Access for both runway nights, with a VIP seat and a complimentary cocktail: GH₵1,516

The organisers aim the week at designers, retailers, investors, manufacturers and the media as well as people who simply love clothes, and the ticket listing calls it family friendly. For visitors from the diaspora, the Trade Tent is the chance to buy straight from the people making African fashion.

Fourteen years on the runway
The week is the creation of Claudia Lumor, founder of Glitz Africa magazine. Its first edition, in August 2012, was billed as a three-day pan-African showcase with 10 shows and 40 international models, MyJoyOnline reported that summer. A year later it had grown to five days and 15 runway shows at the Accra International Conference Centre, according to Graphic Showbiz. In 2026 the focus has widened from the catwalk to the business behind it, from beauty start-ups to textile mills.
