The Ghana Music Awards UK holds its tenth edition on Saturday 31 October 2026 at The Royal Regency in east London. Black Sherif, Sarkodie and Stonebwoy lead an eight-strong Artiste of the Year shortlist, and fans can still vote on the organiser's website.

Who is up for Artiste of the Year

The top prize brings together rap, Afrobeats, dancehall and gospel, a fair picture of how wide Ghana's music has become. Stonebwoy won it in 2024, and he is back on the list.

Two of the year's biggest songs meet again in the Afrobeats and Afropop Song of the Year race. Black Sherif's Sacrifice and Stonebwoy's Gidi Gidi are up against Bend by OliveTheBoy with Sarkodie, Gyakie's Sankofa and Wendy Shay's Crazy Love.

Sacrifice already has a London story of its own. Black Sherif sang it in BBC Radio 1Xtra's Live Lounge, a session that has passed 1.9 million views on YouTube.

Elsewhere, Sarkodie and Medikal share the Best Rapper shortlist with Strongman and Lyrical Joe, and Diana Hamilton and Piesie Esther are on both the gospel list and the main one. Highlife has its own song award, where Kofi Kinaata, King Paluta and Amerado are in the running.

Ten years of Ghana's music in London

The awards' own archive goes back to 2016, and the night has become a fixture for Ghanaians in Britain. Alongside the home stars, it gives UK-based Ghanaian artists categories of their own: in 2024, Aku Bless took UK-based gospel song and Geo Wellington UK-based Afrobeats song, on the same night that King Paluta won three awards and Davido collected Best African Artiste.

The show is staged by Ghana Music Awards UK Ltd, and Ghanaian outlets including Sammyflex TV plan red-carpet coverage for viewers back home.
